Mahajanapada Period

Sixteen Mahajanapadas were existed before Mahatma Buddha. The list of 16 Mahajanapadas is found in the Jain Texts 'Bhagavati Sutra' and Buddhist Text "Anguttarnikaya' and Mahavastu. Fourteen Mahajanapadas had a monarchical system while Vajli and Malla had a republican system.
